Well, I havent been on the boards for a while, we have this little thing called Indoctrination for about two weeks. That and the first week of classes started. I am so glad I have the opertunity to be here. Countdown to Dolphin (unless I change my mind about submarine warfare), 4 years +.

My advice would be to go for subs. Submarine officers make bank and you can get out whenever you want and have an instant job with the Department of Energy. Or anything else really. But subs is not recommend for the weak. Mentally, emotionally, or physically.

Pardon my ignorance about the Merchant Marine. What is the procedure for graduating from the Merchant Marine Academy and then "going into subs".

Are there USNS submarines?
