Ive got myself an "Unmountable Boot Volume" error.
should be easy enough to fix. However, after inserting the boot CD and hitting "R" to repair, the bloody thing hangs. Repeatedly. Any ideas, short of pouring kero over the HDD? |

My guess is your hard drive is broken. I had the same. Then it did start the CD to repair. When that started it said, "No hard drive detected"

You didn't say anything about your hardware config and OS, but here goes:
You could try another OS from a live-cd, like Ubuntu, and see if it can detect and use the drive. If it can then it's obviously not a hardware fault but something else, like a corrupted boot.ini, which in it's turn can be repaired via the live-cd. |
