Promoted/demoted with SH3Commander?

Hey, I got promoted to kapitanleutnant after scoring 8500 something renown, I was chuffed and purchased a new boat, all was well, there was a 'in base before patrol' save and I quit and rebooted, for purposes, you know

something got screwed though, SH3commander didn't pick up the promotion and I can't get the game to sort it out. after my next patrol when i scored a full 2000 renown, which was added to the remaining 500 after getting the new boat, the game said I was PROMOTED to oberleutnant

it's not a gamekiller or anything but I was kinda hoping there was a way to restore my status of Kaleun-proper. any thoughts?

one way i may have screwed it up is selecting another career ingame or with SH3commander, not sure. or maybe i shouldn't have rolled back sh3commander. I can't remember what exactly I did.

anything helpful would be appreciated, cheers

The promotion levels are based on renown amounts (not on home pc atm so can't give definitive amounts).

If you purchase something and subsequently the drop in your renown amount is lower than the rank/renown equivalent, you will be demoted until your renown total is sufficient to reinstate your rank.

Are the demotions related to hull damage?
Once, after a nearly 80000-ton patrol with the hull integrity percentage at 85% i was demoted to the rank of Oberleutnant. And thats why i'm wondering...

A threshold for Kaleun is 7999.

As I see it, there are two ways to prevent demotion:
- don't spend renown if it will get you below the threshold

- give yourself some renown to keep you above the threshold, but remember the amount you added and don't spend it

so... when my renown dropped back to 'oberleutnant' level i was immediately demoted again???

weird though, because when i start a career with the 1500 auto-renown and return home from the test run, i am always promoted to oberleutnant and I never get demoted back to ordinary leutnant, even if i then use up all renown on upgrades...

edit: and when I start up the game through SH3commander, commander says I'm oberleutnant but ingame at the career section of the menu, it says im Kaleun

which made me wonder if it's something to do with SH3commander
