Default Informercial star Billy Mays found dead

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,529328,00.html

This is definitely a shocker. Everyone in the States should know him. Most of the time the products he sold were junk. He had a show on the Discovery Channel called Pitchmen with that Australian guy.

Wow a bit of a shocker.

Still the guy was flat out all the time I guess the stress finally got to him.

Any word on cause of death?

Products so good, they can only be sold by shouting!

Maybe he was knocked of by the competition. Could be a fascinating new sport.

I certainly remember him from all those Oxiclean infomercials. Quite the pitchman. Bad time for a minor celebrity to die considering who's dominating the media right now.

Terrible news..

The show Syxx_killer mentions Pitchmen is actually quite a good show if you like new inventive ideas. I watched several episodes when I was on vacation, and one was a behind the scenes with the crews family.

Though I never bought a product from him, may his infomercials live forever.

I watched pitchmen, by accident, for about ten minutes.

TMZ has confirmed TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead today in his home in Tampa, Florida early this morning.

According to the Tampa PD, the 50-year-old TV pitchman was found unresponsive by his wife Deborah at 7:45 AM.

TMZ has learned Mays' body has already been removed from his home.

Mays had just returned from Philadelphia, where he shot a new OxiClean commercial. He was a passenger aboard a plane that suffered a blown front tire upon landing. He told a local TV station, "All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."

We're told Mays was at his home around 6:00 PM last night, and according to a source Mays was "acting fine and normal ... he was talking business with his father-in-law."

According to cops, there are no signs of forced entry to the residence and no foul play is suspected.

The Medical Examiner's office is expected to complete the autopsy by tomorrow afternoon.

Billy's wife Deborah just released the following statement:

Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times.

The really disturbing thing is that many of these are younger than I am.

That head injury from the plane sure sounds suspicious. I guess his head wasn't hard enough. I watched the first episode of Pitchmen out of curiosity, but haven't watched it since. Prior to the show airing I saw the ImpactGel commercial on TV. While I don't have a real interest in the show, the first episode was kind of interesting being it was about ImpactGel.

I wonder if it's another Natasha Richardson scenario?

CNN still busy following the MJ death As hyper as Billy Mays was, if he had a heart attack I would not be surprised.
