hey guys, I noticed that the makers of RFB, TMO and FOTRS haven't made mods in a long time is there anyone who's planning on making another super mod for sh4?

Yes but not US side ... there a WW1 german uboats mod in progress, see sticky at the top of this page.

Frank continues to develop some stuff for realism as RFB addóns, see the improved ship physics theads.

Sadly, modding never caught on quite as well for SH4 as it did for SH3 and 5. For some reason, the u-boats seem to have a much bigger following. (Maybe we need an epic fleet boat movie to drive up interest?)

You forgot GFO, Game Fixes Only, which though not a mega-mod, certainly is well done and fixes many of the issues the stock game had.

The one Hitman mentioned looks like it will be a good one, but is time-consuming for the author, and understandably so.

The most recent supermod is FOTRS v2, for SH4 1.4 and in german. There is an spanish traslation. No english version.

I have it and looks very well, but is really a dense mod. Some drop of FPS and a lot of ships with new textures. CTDs in the Museum, indicating some problem with the added ships.

There are many complementary mods for RFB and TMO, with and without RSRDC. And GFO is a superbe "correction" mod, compatible with RSRDC and a lot of minor mods. I have an installation of GFO and it is really a funny thing.

Really I wonder why American cinema don´t do a submarine epic with Fleet Boats. Only with Mush Morton´s history and the adventures of USS Barb with Fluckey there are a lot of themes.

It would be great to have SH4 re done with the SH5 graphics engine! I think it would look awesome!

It got talked about once, not so much another mega mod, but taking parts of several mods people like and combining them into one and updating some of the current mods like RSRD. Seems several were going to get involved with one mod leader and it just never took off...

In SH3 I think there aren´t subsimmers using only a megamod. All use GWX, or LSH3, or WAC, or NYGM, and add other complementary mods. The same with SH4, except there aren´t many complementary mods. Mainly, there was very little work in "candy eye" in scenarios; the bases are not so detailed as in SH3 and the equivalent of Merchant Fleet mod for SH3 never see the light for SH4 (the Japanese Merchant Marine mod).
