Default An appeal for a mod

Hi folks,

I don't know if this is possible but I need a mod that would help me speed up testing my mods.

I love the MBFL mod that substitutes empty campaign layers but cannot use it in testing my latest mods. What I require, if it is possible, is a mod that lets me start in St.Nazaire but contains no ship traffic, harbour traffic or anything else in the campaign world or the most minimal campaign required. I'm hoping that such a mod would drastically shorten loading game times as the MBFL mod does.

Forgive my ignorance but I have little knowledge of the campaign structure. Sure hope it might be possible it could, quite literally, save me hours in the long run.

Thanks and best regards

Moin Aces,

have you tried to create a single mission placing your sub right in the harbor of St.Nazaire (with MBFL enabled)?

Regards,
DD

Good morning my friend, good to see you back.

I haven't tried that idea, would the port still appear without the campaign.

I can't believe that I have been stupid enough not to think of this idea. If it works it'll save me many hours/

Thanks mate.

Cheers

IIRC you even hear the music play in SHIV when you go to the locations of the SHIII u-boat bases, although no harbor installations will show up. Lazy devs. So, I can not imagine any reason for it to hide (in SHIII).

Just give it a try!

Thanks for the welcome,
DD

I'm not sure if you use GWX but if you enable the Black Sea campaign it will drastically reduce load times (mine went down from 9 mins to 3). IIRC it leaves the Land layer alone so St Naz should appear as it usually does but without ships and aircraft.

If you let us know what you're testing (St Naz land units? Ships? terrain? U-boat changes?) there may be other ways to skin the cat...

Thanks very much mate,

All I need is the port of St.Naziare so that I can test my new St.Nazaire Super Pens v5 mod. So the land layer and only St.Naziare if this is possible. I can then setout from there and test the new pens version as well and my new Super Turms version.

Oh and I'm using GWX3.

Cheers and thanks mate

In which case:
Use the _SCR from GWX Black Sea campaign.
Use the _LND from GWX regular campaign.
Delete the content of GWX Black Sea Campaign_RND (Backup Campaign_RND, Open Mission Editor, open campaign_RND, highlight all, 'Del', 'Save As...', Campaign_RND).

Enable via JSGME.

It'll take about five minutes to put this together when I get back from work so if you can wait until this evening I can knock it together for you.

I know there is a mod out there that has blank campaign layers for testing mods and the like. I have it on my computer at home though and I'm at work now.
I searched around a bit and can't seem to find it. I'll look this afternoon if Wreford hasn't hooked you up.

Are you using GWX Gold on it's own or with bbw's St Naz + Schleuse?
