Trouble shooting installation

I lost my current CD. So I downloaded the game from Direct2drive. In the middle of the installation, I stopped it because I needed to look something up on google, the system tried to erase the current installation. Now evertime I try to reinstall the game I get an error code 1607: Unable to install Installshield Scripting Runtime. I try to remove all folders from the system but it tells me that I need to finish the current installation. I've also redownloaded the game and tried again but the error keeps coming up, please help. Is there a process I need to stop in task manager? I need help ASAP, thank you
