Default %$#%$# Luftwaffe!!

A reprimand has been entered into the record of Lt Zur See Waldemar Gerking, Commanding Officer U-8.

On or about Sept 6th, 1939, Lt Gerking claims that he had just torpedoed a Polish Merchant ship and was waiting submerged to assess the effect of the damage.

Lt Gerking claims that soon thereafter a flight of He. 111's dropped from the clouds and proceded to bomb the merchant which subsequently sank.

Several Near Misses were reported by U-8 which narrowly escaped a friendly fire incident.

Upon returning to port and discovering he did not receive credit for the sinking, Lt Gerking promptly went to the nearest bar and assaulted the 1st Luftwaffe officer he found.

In consideration of the needs of the service, Lt Gerking will retain command of U-8, but have to attend anger management classes.

(It was dang close!)

Goering is such a jackal. He can't defeat RAF Fighter Command, but he'll take the easy kills from under our noses. How come they never providentially show up when I'm being pounded by escorts?

I was leaving Wilhelmshaven once when I spotted two British destroyers steaming at 30kts towards Helgoland. I called in the flyboys and witnessed how they got their asses kicked. The Tommies didn't even slow down. Had I known the flyboys are such wooses I would have engaged the destroyers myself.

The remnants of a small convoy, three freighters (one of them badly damaged by me) and an escorting destroyer...

Luftwaffe attacks, sinking the already damaged freighter, instead of removing the destroyer threat for me to finish them up...

Easy kills will do for them...

I've never seen the Luftwaffe in the Atlantic.
When I started a career in the Med is when I started to see them. I agree with everyone else though. More of a hinderance than a help.

The Cowardly Luftwaffe eh? Now I know why there's so much 'yellow' on a Messerschmitt.

I lost a kill to my escort as we were leaving Salamis harbour yesterday. We had just gotten out into the bay when the watch crew spotted a Greek passenger/cargo ship. Raced over to sink her but by the time that we got there she was going down. Lost another one to our Italian "allies" just east of Malta too. I had intercepted a small convoy & was preparing to destroy a large cargo vessel when our "allies" turned up in the form of a small Axis convoy. The lead Italian destroyer engaged and destroyed the first British escort which made me think "Alright! my job just got a whole lot easier." I had the cargo vessel all lined up when the Italian destroyer starts blasting away at it. I couldn't surface because there was another enemy escort vessel still around. By the time that I got within optimum firing range my target was going down. Il Duce will be getting a very nasty letter from Onkel Karl. Fickle, treacherous b*st*rds...

I watched two aircraft collide - thought it was a combat with an enemy aircraft. We altered course to investigate only to find 2 Bf-109' in the water trying to propel their way to shore with only the prop and part of the cockpit on the surface. We should have used the deck gun on them! Fools!

Happened to me too!
Only my Boot didn't get damaged, but we did not get any credit for sinking!

And have wasted two good Eels!
