Wide Screen question

Hello!

I have a widescreen of 22" and I was wondering if there is a way to make DW fit all my screen? If so how please?

My screen is an: LG Flatron Wide 22 inches L226WTX

Thank You!

Dangerous Waters has no widescreen option. You will literally have to go into your moniotor's settings and set it to have those two black bars on the sides of the screen.

I'm not sure I understand all these "widescreen" questions.

I'm running my pc/ and DW on a 50" samsung HDTV. Everything looks fine to me. No black bars on the sides or top/bottom......

I dunno......I don't get it. Works fine for me, no tweaks at all.

It's going to be one of two places. 1. check your monior's configuration menu that you bring up usually by pushing a menu button on the monitor. There is usually an option for switiching it to non-widescreen in there.

2. If you can't find an option there, check the video card configuration (right click on your desktop.. go to properties... Go to settings, go to ADVANCED...) There may be an option in there. I know there's an option to do that in there on my widescreen laptop.

DW is a 4:3 game. That means that trying to display the game in whatever resolution that is not 4:3 (for instance 1280x1024 5:4, 1920x1600 16:10, etc...)) will give you distorted shapes. Now wether you will even be aware of this is irrelevant to the technical question.

This brings us to the following question : how do I display (that is without distortion) the game on a widescreen display (whose aspect ratio obviously is non 4:3). In this case hardware comes to the rescue, either through the monitor controls or through the video cards drivers that enforce a 4:3 aspect ratio when scaling the image to "fill the screen". That is why you will have black bars, they are there to enforce the correct aspect ratio.
If you have a widescreen monitor and DW fills the screen (no black bars either horizontally or vertically) the image is scaled up to fill the entire screen and it will be distorted. Round shapes will not be round but oval shaped and so on.

Understood then, I will live with it, thanks for info!
