A few simple questions...

I feel like amusing myself by going through the game with a "super boat and crew." That is, a decked out Type XXI with excellent crew from the onset.

It appears that all I have to do to make all upgrades available from the onset of the game is, in the basic.cfg file, change all the year values to 1939 and all the month values to 8. In addition, it looks like I can change the amount of renown that completing the naval academy gives me there by changing "1000" to say, "50000." Are these parts as easy as they look?

However, what I don't know are the following:

-How to make U-boats available at different times. I am completely lost here. Can someone explain what I should be looking for?

-How to make U-boats available at different ports. Again, I'm clueless. Advice?

-How to change the parameters that earn my crew experience, medals and promotions. I found the section of the basic.cfg file that allows me to control the parameters that earn medals and promotions, but I don't know what controls the number of each type I earn during a patrol. Also, I can't figure out what causes crewmen to gain experience. An explanation would be nice.
