Default Noob question

Im sort of a noob to SH4 and to the various mods that accompany it... but after a little browsing i decided to install RFB, RSRD and Real enviroment mod. I installed in this order

REM
RSRD
RFB

Only when i installed RFB did JSGME tell me that RFB was overwriting files that a previous mod had installed ( from RSRD). AM i installing things in the correct order? Will i be missing some files? SH4 runs and looks amazing now and i cant wait to start out on a real patrol.

My next addons will be the radio and music addons, i am in the process now of downloading all that music and radio stations, but id like to know if there was a tutorial thread somewhere that could tell me how to get this working, it is my understanding that it is not as simple as a JSGME install.

Any help or links would be greatly appreciated

the correct way to install those mods would be:

RFB
RSRDC
REM

but make sure you have the correct RSRDC for RFB, ie. dont use the one for TMO or stock SH4

And about the music and the radio addon.

I think you will find all necessary installation question in the readme file that most of the times follow the mods

But if you still need some help just let us know

Ohh and Welcome to the Subsim forum

so having JSGME uninstall the mods and then reinstall everything in order with the RFB version of RSRD everything should be ok? OR is a complete reinstall of the game in order?

Agreed. With JSGME you can uninstall and reinstall the mods as many times as you wish. You will still get the warning about overwriting other files, but if you do them in the correct order everything should work fine.

Thanks for the help, SH4 runs and looks like a champ now. The gramaphone music files and how all that works is still a mystery to me, but not a huge pressing issue at the moment.

I run SH4 at 1280x1024 and with AA and AF off, id like to run with AA on, but i have found i can get 15 or more FPS gained with it off, and that becomes important when there are a lot of ships around. It still looks amazing with AA off.
