Default Ship Names Update April 16

Well, I wasn't going to do another update for awhile, because research takes time, but I was playing and sank a ship, and it didn't get a name! So, a little looking around showed me one I had missed.

This incorporates the two I put in the one last week (Arandor Star and Q-Ship), plus the BBWarspite (thanks Murr44!). It also includes OTTender, the Royal Navy's fleet oilers (the 'Dale' class - Barrdale, Derwentdale etc).
http://files.filefront.com/Ship+name.../fileinfo.html

One problem with those ships, though - they show up in the game as 16000-17000 tons. Jane's Fighting Ships gives 17000 tons, but a The World's Merchant Fleets 1939 shows that this is the full-load naval displacement. The Gross Register Tonnage - what the u-boat captain who sank one would be credited with - was only about 8200 tons. I've changed it in my own Sea folder. What you do is up to you.

Anyway, install - as always - into SH3 Commander's Cfg folder.

Always. This is the only one you need.

Until the next one.

NO! As above, if you have SH3 Commander 3.2, all you need is this one! Each new update adds new things and changes some old ones, but it's a single file and includes everything that went before.

Just wanted to say thanks but it wasn't me who provided the Warspite information. Don't want to take credit for someone else's research.

I just downloaded the update but FF tried to redirect to some real estate site twice. Had a bugger of a time gettting out of it; my browser froze up for a couple of seconds. Not your fault of course but may be you & others should consider uploading your files here or to BTS.

Thanks again for your hard work & research.

I've considered that many time. The problem is that this is constantly changing. Once I get IABL's new ships (and my life) sorted out I plan to do an update adding 300 ships or so every month. That requires taking the old one down and putting up a new one every time.

Maybe here, because I can do that. But asking Russ to do that at his site would put an even bigger burden on his already overworked life.

I'll see what I can do next time.
