Default [WIP] Silent Hunter IV - Music Mods

------------
DISCLAIMER
------------
I do not own any of the music contained in these modifications; it belongs to their respective artists.
------------
These modifications should be installed with JSGME and will not conflict with any variant of
the SH4 game. It is only a sound mod so it can be installed during a career, mission, etc.
If you would like to move some of the music to different parts of the game simply open the
music CFG file in Data>Sound>Music. Just be sure that the file names you type in match the
actual file name. Be sure to keep a backup copy of the stock music folder in the event of an
altercation.

If you have any questions please do feel free to PM me.

U-571 Music Mod
Though the film had its faults, I believe that U-571's score was excellent! The tracks are gallant, heroic, gripping, tense, and sum up the intensity of the Second World War's campaigns beneath the waves. This mod provides an excellent alternative to the stock Silent Hunter soundtrack and is sure to please the ears of anyone who appreciates good music. If an Atlantic or U-Boat mod team is looking for a way to spice up the mod and make it stand apart from the stock game, then perhaps a different soundtrack is in order! This would also fit into the SH4-ATO expansion perfectly and, if the files are compatible, SHIII!

K-19 Music Mod
K-19: The Widowmaker has dived deep into the ranks of classic submarine films. One of its strengths is a strong score that beautifully matches the culture and mood of the film. It has plenty of the intensity and emotion that was felt throughout the Cold War and the race between the USA and USSR to build nuclear submarines... but also explores the more personal emotions of the crew as they struggle to fix the reactor and save the world from a third world war, even if it means they will be court marshaled and locked away by the Soviet Union's efforts to keep a cleaner slate than America's. This mod fit perfectly with Dagon's Foxtrot submarine and it will hopefully stimulate activity on the Cold War Mod.

I have plenty of soundtracks on my hard drive, The Hunt for Red October being one of them... however, the album is only 10 tracks long and doesn't have enough variety to serve as a stand-alone music mod. If enough requests are made, I will release a K-19/Red October music mod. I do not have the Das Boot soundtrack but I can look around for it and make a mod if the demand is there.

Enjoy, happy hunting!

A word of advice: I wouldn't use Filefront for this. They deleted everything I had up and banned me because they said my music files were still under copyright, and didn't even give me the chance to dispute their claim, which I could have. Your stuff is definitely still under copyright, so it's only a matter of time before they kick you off and ban you too.

How about adding "The Sum Of All Fears" and "Crimson Tide" soundtracks into the mod?

Thanks for the tip Fred.
How do you go about getting onto that site and uploading your files? I don't see a "Register" link on that page... do we have to contact the site admin and send him our files?

You register for the forum, then send a PM to one of the mods. Russ, aka SWCowboy, is the head mod. They'll then give you the info so you can upload via FTP.
