Default What to buy? SH3 or SH4?

Hi All,

I like to get into a SH games again but was wondering which game to get. Should get the SH3 with GWX mod or SH4 + mods? Which game do you feel is more difficult/complicated to master, detailed, and overall fun/challanging. I like a good challanging game.

What are your thoughts on both games.

Thanks.

Get both, shouldn't cost too much.

SH3, SH4, and SH4 U Boats for $30. It's an absolute steal. I regret not doing it myself.

They are really two different games with only a similar topic in common.

The SH3 game experience is totally different from SH4 (even with the Indian Ocean expansion).

Honestly I can't say which is better. I love them both. If I had to only play one I would pick SH3 but that's because I like the German theater better.

Falkirion is right, you should be able to pick up SH3 for minor bucks these days.

From D2d.com you can get both + 1.5 for 30 bucks or just SH3 for 10.

Good luck

Thanks all. My question was not a matter of money. I only have enough space on my PC to run one of the SH games. I am holding of on upgrading my PC.

Given that I can only get one of the games which one do you think will be more immersive and heart pumping?

How are the gaming experiences different?

Thanks.

Well, since I only had vanilla SH3 but running SH4 with mods, perhaps it wouldn´t be fair to compare them.

But I prefer SH4 over SH3. I guess it´s mostly because I know a lot more about the war on the Atlantic then in the pacific, wich have made SH4 more interesting for me.... (Did that even make any sence?)

Also, SH4 got a better variety of missions, though again, I havent tried SH3 with mods...

Either way, you defenatly wont get disapointed.

good luck

You mention waiting to upgrade your PC. Is hard drive space the only problem? If you don't have enough RAM or a good enough video card then either one may be too much for your computer. If you have a pretty good setup but not the top-of-the-line, SH3 is easier on a middling system. I have both, but my PC doesn't run SH4 very well, so I play SH3 and look at SH4 once in awhile.

I agree, my copy of SH2 is still wrapped in plastic.

If you get tired of the pacific, you can stalk the atlantic for a while, or vice versa.

SS said it right. Check the system requirements on both games.

If you don't know your computer specs d\l BELARC (IT'S FREE) and it will tell you all your Specs.

What I should have said is that I don't have enough hard drive space for both games but my PC has the system reqs for both games. Given this and that the fact the games focus on two different theaters which game do you feel is more immersive (atmosphere), challanging once you add all of the top mods.

Remember that mods take up HD space. If you don't have enough room for both games, you might not have enough room for one game plus mods.
