Back in the 70's I once played James Targan. He came to our chess club and played 64 simultaneous games.

Naturally, I had absolutely no expectation of beating him (His Rating being about 2-3 times higher than mine). But what really hurt is that he spent probably less than one second per move thinking of my game. He mopped the floor with me!

At least he could have acted like he need to think hard.

But if you have to get slaughtered, at least get slaughtered by one of the best.

But 360 games! wow.. just wow

Why? Maybe he enjoys this. I would, if I had the skill.

Ha! For some reason, the title of this thread made me think of getting lost. 360 degrees against one, which way to go?

Er...sorry for the interruption

I thought this was going to be about my heroic exploits at the last subsim paintball match. Along the same lines as custer's last stand .

Watch ol' fat McBee run around...

"The opponents had a long wait between moves"... I think that sums it up :rotfl:

d4 .... two hours later d5

As fascinating as it is I dont find it to be that tremdous a feat the win loss record is good though have to admit.

It really gets amazing when somebody plays a blind simultaneous competition - without using a chessboard, and board number and moves just being told to him.

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, I think the recod for this is some 60 matches.

Janos Flesch played, in 1960, 52 strong players blindfold, taking 12 hours. He won 31, drew 18 and lost 3 games.

However Flesch's claims are disputed.

In 1947, Miguel Najdorf, he conducted a simultaneous exhibition in which he played a record 45 games blindfolded (+39 -2 =4).
