Walking around inside your command room?

I saw a video on youtube of silent hunter 4 and they person was walking inside the command room, how? Is there a mod need it for that?

It's no mod, it's part of the original program. Just press Shift and F2 when you are in the Command Room and you can glide about like a disembodied spirit.

Also, some of the super-mods allow you to free-roam the Conning Tower and Bridge.
