File not found error messages

Hello everyone!

I'm having a really weird/frustrating problem and I'm hoping you guys can help. I play SH4 with the TriggerMaru Overhaul mod for version 1.5 (U-boat addon) and have been doing so for months. Recently I decided to disable TMO (using JSGME) and all other add-ons like PE4 etc and run the game stock version. When I launch the game the loading screen gets to the end of the loading bar and then I get an error message that says the following:

File not found: data/menu/gui/layout/radio_messages.dds

File not found: data/menu/gui/clock.tga

File not found: data/menu/gui/tdc/tdc.tga

File not found: data/menu/gui/careerstart/careerwheretostart.tga

....And the list goes on and on and on and on...

When I enable TMO the game is fine. I seriously doubt TMO could be causing this problem but I have no clue. Anyone able to help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance Mateys!!

Corrupt install...
Install again...
Always works...

Maybe your TMO installation is corrupted...
Suggest downloading it again...

its simple really, something you did while you had TMO installed changed the stock data/menu file in the backup files for JSGME.

so when you uninstall TMO it removes the TMO menu file but since the stock file is no longer the same, JSGME doesnt recognize it to put it back where it belongs.

to fix this you need to uninstall TMO from the game and delete it from JSGME (do not save it because it is corrupted). now delete the entire menu folder from the sh4 game and replace it with a fresh copy of the file from the backup copy you made of the sh4 data folder that you should have saved to a disk. now delete the mods folder from your silent hunter game file, it will be replaced the next time you run JSGME. run JSGME to create a new mods folder then install your mods into it.

if you did not make a backup of your data folder then you have to do it the hard way and completely uninstall the whole game and delete all remaining sh4 files (look in programs for the ubisoft folder and delete it) including the sh4 folder for saved games in your "my documents" folder.

now reinstall the game and patch to 1.5, but before doing anything else make yourself a copy of the entire sh4 data folder and save it to disk as a backup.

Now what I did was initally install just a stock version of SH4.

Once the install was complete, I went to program files and looked for the Ubisoft folder. Opened it, and copied the SH4 file to "My Documents."

I remaned the file Trigger Maru and saved it. Then I copied that file back to the Ubisoft folder. Found the desktop icon, and renamed it also. Then copied that to the desk top. (installed tmo via JSGME of course)

So what I have is one desktop icon to play TMO, and one desktop icon to play the standard stock version.

Hey, works for me.
