Default Slysoft re-cracks BD+

Most of these articles I ignore since they will always crack everything, but this part caught my attention:

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...-re-cracks-bd-

For those of you not following this one-sided fight, Blu-Ray movies do a lot of very unfortunate things, like stripping your fair use rights, preventing backups (no one has kids or pets that maul disks), being incompatible with boatloads of hardware, and transmitting every viewing, every click, and every thing you do back to who-knows-where to be used against you. Really, they do that, why do you think net access is mandatory?

Now I have been researching getting a BR player here, but I don't want one that calls home on what it is I do.

Anyone here have a standalone BR player that isn't hooked up to the net?

But can you answer the BR question of having to have net access for your player at all times? That was my question.

Never mind -

Will Blu-ray require an Internet connection?

No, you will not need an Internet connection for basic playback of Blu-ray movies. The Internet connection will only be needed for value-added features such as downloading new extras, watching recent movie trailers, web browsing, etc. It will also be required to authorize managed copies of Blu-ray movies that can be transferred over a home network.
