Default New player here.

I just picked this up from London Drugs the other day (for ten bucks), same day that I bought the new gaming rig (4gHz, 512 meg. video card), and it runs like a watch.

Only a couple of things that miss. I would like the bridge crew to be able to report contacts when asked. Or perhaps I am missing something...

Only other thing I miss is SH3 Commander. I wish that there was one for this game as well. Oh, I also miss the captain's bunk from SH3.

On my first career patrol using the manual targeting, and have sunk 12000 grt with 3 hits, one miss and one malfunction.

Good Job! your'e gonna love this game. There is a contact report available. On the bottom menu, click the binoculars and there is a command for "report contacts"...Same goes for sonar, but you must be submerged (use the sonar icon). ...Radar contacts will be reported automaticly....

Welcome to SUBSIM jazzabilly! Nothing like a good old American reliable torpedo to make your day complete. Until June 1943, set 'em on the surface, get close and learn to pray.

If you're daring enough, blow them apart with your deck gun :P

Edit: H-hey! You're from Vancouver! Tiny, tiny world...

Many bad torpedoes on my first patrol; 3 duds altogether, which means I essentially end up "double tapping" just about every target.

Managed to sink a big liner off of Honshu as the highlight of the first patrol! I triple-tapped her (wanted to make sure!).

Where are those darned screenshots saved, anyway?

The screenies are in the games root directory. You might also find the pictures taken during photo recon missions there.
Maybe it is just me, but I just about always fire one torp with the gathered datas and a second insurance with additional spread alterations to cover data errors on my side. The only targets getting only one torp are those how just don't justify a valuble second shot.
