Default Ending a partol??

I always seem to have the "slow cousin at the party" kind of questions, so why not break the tradition!
I couldnt get my SH3 to work with vista (even trying all the steps posted on this site) so I went down to my local computer store and scored a copy of the SH4 with the u-boat missions. Seems alright of a game. Not the same, but I am sure I will get used to it with time. Snazzy graphics.
Anyhow, I have figured out all the basics..... leave port, get where I am going, muck up the Japanese navy, survive their counter-attacks and what not, but now I am stumped by the simplest of all problems.
I haul butt back to base, but there is no "end patrol" option ever. I can "quit to main menu" I thing the message is, but it comes up as a player terminated mission, and I do not know how to resume that career.
Again, I am sure its something so easy Helen Keller could figure it out even without her German shepherd, but I wouldnt mind knowing please.
Thanks in advance!

Default What was the mission?

Did you complete the mission assigned? Was the mission still list as incomplete? That may effect your return to base.

Each time I got to the patrol zone, or dropped off stuff, and then carried on with life, shot at stuff till all my torps were out, or till I hit that low fuel point and had to come home.
Get to the dock, heck, I even paralel parked it in port, and notta

Are you sure that you return to the right base? There's two different anchor symbols on the nav map, the tilted anchor is your base, at the other bases you cannot dock. Also note that during patrols your base nay change, but you should be notified via radio message.

When at base, there should be a anchor popping up on the upper right corner of the screen - click that and one option should be "end patrol".

What he said. But, let me add that the bases with the straight "upright" anchor, you can refuel and rearm.

You have no anchors on your navigation map? Are you using the most recent patch? You should be seeing them.
