Default Terrorists Lego causing uproar

I want one!

Quote:
A Lego-style figurine resembling an Islamic terrorist strapped with explosives and made by a small American company has caused an uproar among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The controversial miniature figure, created by Seattle-based Will Chapman as part of his BrickArms military fighters line, is a bearded militant with a face-covering hood, a tiny toy assault rifle, a little grenade launcher and plastic bombs that can be attached to an explosives belt.

The character is called "Bandit — Mr. White" and sells for $14.

The jarring toy has outraged the British Muslim organization known as the Ramadhan Foundation, which called the figurine "absolutely disgusting," according to Sky News.

The foundation's chief executive, Mohammed Shafiq, complained that the toy is "glorifying terrorism."
Looks like our kids can now play good guy vs. terrorist instead of cowboys and indians. Good to have a company supporting this for our us!

Is Mikhayl the only one here that isn't a panzy? Kids have for ages played cowboys and indians, or army men, or whatever. The type of mentality I see here is of countries that have no capability to defend their own culture in the future. How many of you grew up without plastic army men, or something similar? If you say 'I didn't', I don't believe you.

Maybe you have your sons play with doll houses these days. Might explain some of our problems with society.

And Mikhayl, you remember the first Indian Jones movie where the sword guy does all his fancy moves? :p You know where i'm going with that!

Cowboys and Indians, Rozzers and robbers, James Bond, Germans and Tommies are one thing.
Such games all have a certain innocence removed from reality.

Islamic terrorists lack that a little. It is a little perverse whilst people are still being
killed and mutilated on our news screens each day.

This on the other hand, is excellent!

Well, we at least found someone to bake a cake for us in his doll house when we go about fighting terrorists with our Lego's!

Oh wait, we have two! How nice!

Does OneToughHearing stand for one that was overbaked and is just dead on the pan? I think so. It is probably hard as a rock after being left in the doll house oven for so long!

I believe I went through several packs of army men each week, blowing most of my money on them and the firecrackers I used to obliterate the poor guys. I find that the media tends to take a single example of a complete psycho and then tie whatever his hobbies were to serial killing. Its a bit like the outcry about violent video games, which about half the world plays without cannibalizing their grandparents. If this was true, I would have killed 60 people by the time I was 7

Still, its a different matter with the, uh.. Brickarms guys, the army men I played with were rather generic with the only difference being their color (green and darker green). These guys are pretty specific, and little kids really don't know who to make the hero. I would not want to see my kid glorifying the Schutzstaffel, but thats really just your perspective. The kid doesn't know that he is making the (just about) worst human beings in history "save the day", so it isn't preaching Jihad or genocide.

Then again, the whole thing is pretty irrelevant because, well...whose kid would be buying mail-order Brickarms rather than just getting Lego from Toys 'R Us.

edit: On second thought, would anyone buy this?
