The problem is the reasoning behind the right liking these candidates. The right wants to go farther and farther right socially. America just isn't a big bible beating place like it used to be. If the GOP can't get in the middle socially they will stay out of power. The religious right just isn't big enough to carry elections anymore nationwide.

Obama won't be leaving office until 2017 anyway.
