So I start tracking a target at around 15-16 nm. The tracking party informs me that it is a warship. I clock him at 8 knots. I'm almost out of torpedos (I have 4 in the stern tubes and 1 forward) so I set up for a stern shot at 90°, range about 700yds. It seems like it's taking forever so I recheck his speed and he's now doing 2 knots. Did I mention that the weather turned very nasty, almost horizontal rain and very rough seas. I have never seen him in the scope which I pop up every 1000 yds or so to check. at 1500 yds I look again-no target but right after I get a sunken ship symbol on the map (grey not red). My question is does the game mod in ships sinking from storms? I'm running SH4 1.4 + TMO +NSM and asst other mods which shouldn't matter. An almost sure kill and Mother Nature takes him out just before I pull the trigger-Damn.

Yes, ships can go down from very rough weather.
