Apehanger's Ramblings
First of all, Hi guys.
It has just gone 2am and I have just survived yet another DC attack ![]() I have spent many years on flying sims, my favourite being IL-72 (Ubisoft). Having survived the early days of computing, 688 etc, I have somehow been dragged back underwater. Even my real life job involves sonar/seafloor analysis. I have a few questions/comments that I will split into different posts in the hope of getting answers:

In IL-72 I remember a GREAT mod! If I pulled too many G's my rear gunner would verbally complain that he was going to be sick!!!
Tonight I found my best SH3 mod (after GWX of course), DC SHAKE. How f@cking great is that!? Absolute immersion. Kudos to the author. It rates so highly with the above mod h.sie's id manual This has been an inspiration for me. i am using this as a basis, with his permission, to build my own manual.

Just a couple of questions related to realism:
USING GWX 2.1 If I have a minor problem ![]() Will moving personnell aft or stern have any effect on my ability to surface/prevent sinking deeper, as it would have done in a real situation Am using Asdic_Final mod, Is this 'hammer' effect what would be expected? This question is purely of interest: I spend 24hrs a day with the sound of sub-bottom accoustics but I wonder if the pinger frequencies were so different then than they are today

I notice that when I am being bullied, for no reason whatsoever, by the Imperialistic modern day pirates of the Anglo Saxon war mongerers, that the closer the WARship is, the shorter (fair enough) and fainter (?) it's return is from my trainee Geotechnical Survey engineer (sonar operator)
WHY? My logic would be a stronger return ![]()
