Strange career start with 7th flotilla - need help

I've been trying to start a new career with 7th flotilla in 1939 using GWX 2.1. I've read the readme file regarding how to go about doing the first patrol and transferring after it. Anyway, what happens is that once I've picked out a name for the Kaleun, flotilla of choice, and crew in SH3Cmdr, I click to start the game. Once in the game, I immediately notice that for some reason I have 2000 renown, instead of 1500. I've modified the Naval Academy file so that I wouldn't have to go through it to get the renown, but like I said, I should have 1500 not 2000. Then, when I go to start the first patrol with the 7th, which should take place in the bay where I'll need to sink a few ships. However, for some reason my assigned patrol grid is AO98, near the west African coast and that's where my patrol starts after it loads up. No where near Konigsberg obviously. I look on my briefing instructions and where it suppose to say my starting base it's just a blank. The same is also for where I need to dock when my patrol is over.

I've tried starting a new career twice to make sure I wasn't making any mistakes, but it's the same thing the second time around as well.

I don't understand why this is happening, please help.

PS - I am running a few mods which are compatible with GWX 2.1. I have also started a career before with the 2nd flotilla and did not experience anything like this with it.
