Default Amazing Sound Mod

Ive just downloaded and used (must have JSGME) the sound mod (available on this site on the download/sound section) Captain Midnight and More Captain Midnight CBS shows/ads etc.

Can I just say (and please pass this on to the author of this great mod) that its totally amazing. Easy to download and use. You dont have to muck around with file editing just JSGME.

Let me describe... Im on a S42 boat heading North from Fremantle and worried about the patrol ahead as are the men. Theres a raging storm above me. Im riding it out at 100ft at just 3kts. All you can hear is the light hum of the electric engine and this amazing radio station mod (once youve turned the radio on and wondered why its working at 100ft lol).

I cannot say how cool this is. You can almost smell the grease, oil and sweat.

What a great GREAT mod. (and game)

I almost dont want to go Jap hunting.

I love the radio stations and probably have a hard drive full of them.
Fred has made many more, I have about 8 stations loaded. I love the "This is war" shows, George Burns & Gracie Allen, The Shadow, Superman and all the stars from the era.

You've just touched the tip. You can even listen to Tokyo Rose...the real one.

File editing is rather easy and needed for multiple stations, just copy and paste, but another great mod is the radio station manager to keep things simple and in order.

Torpex, Tokyo Rose show only plays after a certain date in 1944.
The radio show mod is outstanding btw

Yeah that is a "bug" unique to the S-boats. None of the others let you hear the radio beyond periscope depth.

If you love Captain Midnight, you should try mine too. If you have the space.

I had to buy another hardrive because of you, but it was worth it. I actually have one small external drive with nothing but your work. I would play them all day with media player why working on the house.

If I can ever get the time and inclination both, I have more stuff to add. Updates to the current stations, and maybe two new ones.

Fred you did more than improve my gaming, you introduced me to so much more. These old radio shows are just great and I just lose myself in them. The trip across the Pacific is much more enjoyable with your mods.

I have downloaded all of Fred's stuff, but as of right now, I have no idea what to do to make them work.

I downloaded almost all of his music too.

Where do I put it all?

All radio stations have a readme file that tells you how to install them, and the music. The Country and Chinese Music sets have readmes that tell you how to set up stations for them too.

If you need more help, just ask.

Thanks Fred. I got it set up I think.

I am playing a pre war Pearl Habor campagn in the Narwhal with TMO2.1 and RSRD.

So far I seem to have gotten the stations to work.

It's like playing a whole different game. I actually enjoy the "downtime" now

Great work!

One question. Is there anyway to increase the volume of the radio in game?

Everything else seems to drown it out.

About a year ago I followed a link from here to an online archive of WW2 era radio programs, and downloaded a couple Fibber McGee shows. I now have the entire collection on CD, and my 8-year old won't listen to anything else in the car. How many 8-year olds do you know that specifically request 1940's radio shows? It is humbling to listen to the programs and think about what the entire country / world was experiencing at that time.
