A while back i remember there was a kind of shIII launcher that "killed" all those unnecesary windows background processes before launching the game, at the time i didnt need it on my xp machine but i just got a new laptop and its running vista which means at startup there are over 80 processes running (most of which are probably useless and just hoging memory).
Ive tried sh3 anyway and get ok performance (50-60fps) but getting rid of those pesky background progs would probably help some more. + does anybody know just which processes are essential in order for vista run??? Idealy id like to remove all processes except those few essential ones, i dont care about temporarily shutting down my antivirus stuff while playing sh3 as i can just turn off the wifi first. As for the prog im looking for i seem to recall it had something to do with ms flight sim??? |

I think it might be FSAutoStart. I've never used it but here's the link http://kensalter.com/software/ . It looks like he also has a newer version also. ![]() UT |

As UberTorpedo, never used it myself, but if you are running Vista, you might want to try this application (also by Ken Salter) which seems to do the same trick and is Vista compatible: Link: http://www.download.com/AlacrityPC/3...-10819997.html Regards, Prince Namor Submariner |
