Default Game crash on loading... WTF?!?

Everything was going smooth until today, but now I get a CTD when loading bar reaches about halfway.

I don't understand, I didn't change a single thing on my rig.

I was just about to start patrol 7. I run SH3commander and GWX 2.0 but I don't think this is the source of the problem. Any suggestions? I don't feel like re-installing everything.

Watch carefully before you load a game. For some reason i dont know it mess and happens alot of time to me. Watch carefully before you load a map. Watch carefully what ship you were using and if it hasn't been switched to another sub or another port.

Which bar? Initial load up or after you load a saved game?

Nope. I played last night, and didn't change a thing since.

You should probably run a disk check and make sure you don't have any file system issues. If nothing has changed with the game, then it might just be the files are damaged.

Start>Run>Cmd>Chkdsk <drive leter>: /f

*sigh*

rgr that will try.

If it doesn't fix my problem, what files do I need to save in order to continue playing my career? Is it the files in the campaign folder?

I had exactly the same thing happen with GWX 2.1.

Eventually, after reinstalls etc, I had to give it up.

Hope you have better luck.

Yes, I re-installed everything from scratch, the game and the complete GWX mod.
I was afraid it would be a hassle, but it went smoothly, I could save my career and I'm back to sea now.

NYGM runs fine.

I don't know why I had issues with GWX. My 'puter has specs such that it should be able to run it without problems. I get FPS of 90-100 when in external view at sea.
