Default CM PBEM anyone?

Since I'm waiting for some repairs on my main PC before I can play more modern games (like SHIV) again, I was wondering if anyone would be up for some Combat Mission PBEM. :hmm:

I have all 3 titles (although I'm mostly partial to CMBB). I do, however, happen to be a total newbie when it comes to multiplayer with CM, and my skills with the game are admittably a bit rusty after not having played it for a while, so you might have to bear with me losing pathetically at first :p

I'm sure we have some Combat Mission players here, come on out... maybe we could even get a little PBEM league started here.

Maybe. perhaps. I just got all three off my system about two weeks ago during a reformat but I guess I could always stick one back on there although between Sh4 modding, NWN2 and Rl stuff It might only be a couple of turns a week (if that,)

But yeah, a little Subsim Combat Mission ladder might be a fun idea, especially since I don't like going to the Battlefront forums very much.

I think Luftwolf is pretty into CM. I don't own any, but will purchase SF as soon as it comes out.

Well, SF is still somewhere in the future! I'll wait and see, though I'm not averse to the ultra-modern setting of it and all...

Anyway, let's make this easy:
I just set up a quick and totally random warmup match (the forces matchup there is a little dumb, but hey...). Here it is:

If you're up for some playing here, just take up the challenge. You can respond to me by PM and then we'll set up an ongoing session by email perhaps

A healthy bump!

Janus and me have just finished our first PBEM game. It was a pretty brutal match with me as the Soviets having to advance in dense fog. In the end I couldn't advance far enough, and our casualties were dead tied, and the result being a tactical defeat for me...

You can see just how nasty this was by the labels:

So, with that, I'll make another call for anyone else who'd like to join in. This is really fun :p

Oh dear, the screenshot from this perspective really looks devestating.
I think the next battle will bring as much fun but this time I will be more careful with my orders.

Bump

Anyone fancy a bit of CMAK or CMBB PBEM? I'd prefer to play an operation isntead of single scenarios but at the end of the day I'm fine with both.

So?

Hey, I'm back now, but I don't have CMBB or CMAK on hand at the moment (and in fact I'm still not even sure they'd run on my laptop). Once I settle a few matters of business here though, I might be available for CMSF....

Hey CCIP, I've already noticed you are active again but did not want to hassle you directly with Combat Mission after your absence

I just deinstalled CMSF the other day because I'm not really in the mood for the modern scenarios but it's better than no CM at all, hehe.
Simply leave me a note when you want to start a CMSF PBEM and I'll install it again with the latest patch (I won't buy the Marines module in the very near future).

Hmm, when is 1.10 going to be released? Last I heard it was just about to be put out, so it'd be wise to wait for it before starting a PBEM game.

I won't buy the Marines module in the very near future because I don't have money for it yet That might change in a month or so, but for now I've still got 1.10 to look forward to. So we're going to be in the same boat as far as CMSF at least for a while, I guess! That sounds like a good excuse for PBEM.

Do you know if Battlefront sell CMBB etc. for download? Once I get some money, it might be easier for me to buy CMBB again than go back 500km for my CD... (although I really hope I can make it run on this laptop - last I tried it wouldn't do it).

There is a bundle pack of CMBB and CMAK for download in the BF.C store for 40$ or 50$ (it says 40 bucks first but later when you have to select your delivery method it costs 50 ).

The CMSF 1.10 patch seems to be available since last friday:

Oh, and check your PM CCIP.
