What? No penguins?

Autumn '43.
ver1.4- no mods.
Career mode.

I get the exact same mission as my previus, photo recon in the same malaysian port (hadn't had a doubled mission for a while). I decide to take the children (ie crew) out for a field trip. So South to Antartica! which by the way is not that far away from Fremantle (my base). The trip lasts about a week plus, crossed paths with some rain but after that fair weather and calm seas all the way. Reached our destination, crew wearing their shirts and jeens, the sky looks very tropical indeed. Didn't notice any dramatic change in day/night duration. No snow or ice. Ok October in Antarica maybe what? springtime... but where are the penguins?????:hmm:

Bottom line. SH4 world is not only flat, but already hit by Global Warming too!

:hmm: ...you must have bought the cheap version of SHIV. I bought the Deluxe Silver-Platinum- Gold 1.5a Edition. I have penguins in antartica...and dolphins cavorting at my bow. Elephants in Africa. Moose in Alaska.

My world is round..I steamed entirely around the world and didn't fall off. The day and night durations are as they shoud be according to lattitude and season. No global warming myths either.

I guess its true what they say ....you get what you pay for.

and oh..yeah.. never the same mission twice in the same career...

The other night I took my sub north, refueling at Dutch Harbor and then going for the pole. My observation (June 1942) was it never got dark, and at midnight the sun was up and visible north of my position, as it should be. Finally sank the sub running into ice pack around 87 degrees north--made it much further than I anticipated, but day/night and such was as I expected.

Yeah, like I'm gonna trust you. I had a friend who bought that version, then paid an extra $5000 for a computer that would run it. The first time he died in a campaign his fancy computer exploded and killed him. :p

first of all fancy computers cost more than 5 grand and second they come with a shrapnel proof booth from which to play. So if he wasn't using it..well.. its safe computing or no computing atall..

AHA...see I told yah...they are here...they are there..they are everywhere...all over the world...(to borrow lyrics from a German propaganda song)

...you know the fun part?...its pulling in close to shore and opening up with the 20mmm AA gun. Penguin soup is a welcome change of diet.after a long time at sea, but does tend to taste a bit fishy...

I´m sure that a modder can replace the texture of the seagulls with a penguin, this can solve the problem.

one moment...penguins fly ??? :hmm:
