I was a little worried myself about updating to SP3 but finally bit the bullet and updated after doing some back-ups of my game files.

Went ahead and did it and have had no problems whatsoever for the past 2 weeks.

I upgraded to SP3 without even thinking about it or doing anything special and it's all good.

Same here. I got a message saying it was ready for download, and I did it without wondering whether I should. Works fine, no problems.

It downloaded automatically. I do perceive longer load times on older software (in general) despite doing my best to keep things clean and ship shape. Sim runs fine.
