I downloaded and installed the 3dsmax you mentioned, Very similar to Gmax still
You mentioned you imported those .X files and they remained textured. Do you have a differeing importer addition? The Stock will only allow 3ds and dfx files to import Thanks Mike D |

In Blender I can open the .X files and save it as .3ds and wave .obj
I then import them into the 3dsmax. the material editor is similar to Gmax but has other differences. I figured out how import both models , scale and orient, and apply a texture, but the mapping is not correct, there is the a .mtl file created by blender and I know from past attempts this file is the mapping for the .obj file. How do I makle 3dsmax read that .mtl file to correct the texture mapping please? thanks again Last edited by USS Sea Tiger; 08-27-08 at 04:57 AM. |
