I allow very few people to check out my fly !

I've done a lot of trout fishing (a lot!!!) but usually spin-cast with Panther-Martins for Browns. My fly-fishing experiences have been varied from Awesome to me lying on the stream bank crying without shame like a wee baby. Never have tied my own flies though and I'm always impressed by those that do!!! It's an art !

I have absolutely no interest in fly fishing, but I find the art of fly tying to be fascinating.

Some of the ones I have seen are too good to get wet and munched by some slimy fish.

I do a bit of spinning in the North Sea for Mackerel in the summer with feathers....but that's nothing like fly fishing I suspect

I've actually done some fly fishing, both here in the Netherlands and in Scotland on holiday..

Been more succesful here though... turns out that with flies you catch the bigger fish in my normal fishing spots .. have tried to tie my own flies too, with astonishing lack of succes

Right now I don't have the time or inclination to get a fishing license and go out there, maybe next year

No fly fishing for me. Just artificial lures and live bait!

Same here, I feel real dumb though, I didn't see the "fly" part of the thread title.

My grandfather was really good at flyfishing and fly tying. He could out fly fish anybody.

Why would anyone go fishing to catch flies?
