Real Navigation Mod

i remember seeing this a while back, and i was uninterested, but, after downloading RFB and RSRDC. i think this would be a helluva idea....
is there still work being done? is it impossible?
or, what would i need to do to make it myself?

Don't know if an updated version exists.
