Default SCSoundEdit problem

I downloaded blackmuzzles realim sound mod and SCSoundEdit i then open the sfx.agg so i see the wave files and then add the wav files that need to be replaced in the middle box. I then press replace files and the soundeditor does its thing but when its done it says cannot create sfx.agg. What causes this i cant seem to find out.

You can also try this tool. It is not perfect, but the SCSoundEdit is neither. Maybe it will work for you.

Did you run DW right before working on that sfx.agg? Or some kind of editor. Sometimes Windows is lazy in letting go of it's file access-rights after a program shutdown. Rebooting Windows should release the file again. I don't know a nicer way to do it.

If you are interesting what process may use the file, there are tools for it. I personally use ProcesExplorer and it's 'find handle' function. But there are more, just google for 'locked file' or something.

But reboot should help in most case (unlike posting 2 threads about it).
