Bug? - sound looping during storms

This has probably been discussed before.

Having sailed into another bloody storm going across the S.Atlantic on my way home from a very successful raid on the port of spain I decided to dive,as is standard during low vis.Just as my boat started to make its descent to 30m I noticed that the sounds I observed on the surface like wind, rain, the sound of water dripping onto the deck plates could still be heard at 30m,so I dived deeper to 50,then 100,and could still hear them as clear as if I was still on the surface.Realising this was in fact some sort of sound looping bug I saved then exited, and the sounds ceased.
Not a major problem, but still,a bloody annoying one when it happens, and could also be a problem when manually manning the HPs as the sounds were interfering with my own hearing

Did you minimize your game (pressing the alt-tab) at any moment? This also happens to me sometimes if I minimize. I found that , if I have to minimize the game, I go to the hydrophones station, pause and then minimize.

Anyway, after you reload the saved game, the sounds will stop.

edit: Also sometimes activating the external view removes the sounds.

I sometimes minimize it to quickly go online for info etc,and then when I come offline I maximize the game again.Hmm,that could be it,cheers mate.

The usual cause of this bug of hearing ocean surface sounds and wave sounds while submerged is switching the view from an outside station like the bridge to an inside station like the command room while the game is time compressed.

this even occurs when the view is switched automatically by a dive sequence order.

the easiest way to fix it is to save the patrol (following all the known save game criteria... surfaced, no ships around, no ports around etc) and exit the game... then run SH3 and reload your save game and presto... all better.

the preventive measure is to never switch FROM any outside view TO any inside view without first being at 1x time compression.

follow that rule and this should never happen again... and if it does just apply the save and exit and reload fix.

GR,
Just for the record I never go higher than 1x when on the bridge or any other station, its all in real time. The only time I increase TC is when at the map and traversing large distances.
Thanks anyway
