Honda Insight coming back as cheap $18,500 hybrid?

What I don't get is how do car manufacturers intend to sell future cars? I don't know if anyone heard but there are no more leases for cars now (Fleeces would be a better word since they are a rup off, but thats another thread). The big 3 have given up leasing due to its money losing potential.

So this brings me to my point, if my car were not on lease originally (I have since bought it out, but thats another story), I really don't think you could have talked me into $1000 a month payments, or made me pay cash. I only bought it because I was stupid and only looking at the monthly payment (about $430 with all my deals I got and my logic was to keep one car constantly that always had a warranty, but since you have nothing to show for it in the end....), before I wisened up and simply bought it.

Do people honestly think the consumer is going to start dropping $20K to $40K every time they want a new car? I doubt it. Honda may be on the right track here. This is why I posted this.

The Insight was never a sales success, and was eventually discontinued. If there able to get it down to that price, I think there will be a major shift towards the cars.

Now bring on an LPG powered hybrid, or a diesel hybrid with plug in option for both!

A diesel electric series engine car is what I am waiting for. Peugeot is coming out with one but you can't buy them in the US.

#1 Rip out fuel burning engine

#2 Install AC motor

#3 Install EEstor, Or Li-ion batteries that use different Anodes or Cathodes to reduce cost and risk..

#4 Install support equipment..

#5 Make an Ad

#6 Profit...

Back in the days the insight use to be a rare sight, still is today. But for those who own those electric 2 seat hatchbacks, they got some of the best gas mileage for a production vehicle . . . and still hold that record. With the advent of the new afordable vehicle market at around 18,000 . . . a hybrid in that field isn't a bad idea.
If only they put more hybrids in the fields that can see a large % boast in terms of gas mileage . . . Vans, Trucks, and off-road utility vehicles. Believe it or not there is a need for these vehicles in certain segments of the population. And for them an additional 3-6 miles per gallon would be a much larger fuel mileage increase in comparison.

I think I like my dads Dodge ram 1500 V8 Gas guzzler more. Not mutch on cars. Unless there older mustangs. Or a Baracuda.
