I think GWX have been done to improve realism and immerson of SHIII. And what do you think how hard a Kaleun´s life have been in WWII...In my opinion you have two possibilities:
1.) Learning and getting better 2.) Play Vanilla SHIII patched to 1.4 And btw in the first 1,5 years of the war (with gwx 2.1) it´s easy to attack the allied shipping and avoid antisubmarine ships...and slipping away when you´ve been hunted is more then only possible too. Just my two cents P.S.: Don´t feel offended by this words, it´s just my personal opinion. |

As far as I know there also exists a mod that reduces KI for GWX.
But I don´t know if it is for GWX2.1 Alternatively you could try another supermod! GWX is the supermod with the most demanding KI. |

For those of the english language that wonder what KI means. It's german (künstliche Intelligenz) for AI (artificial intelligence). Sorry, I have no idea of a mod to dumb down our oponents.
But maybe you can give an example of when you lost against overwhelming KI/AI power. Maybe we can provide tips you haven't thought of. |

Don't try to dumb down or reduce the AI, try to understand it better.

1.) Read the Manual.
2.) Please don't 'skim' though the manual, then come back here and caim you did read the manual and say your still have the same issue. I have found the AI will take advantage of any mistakes you make, any. SH3 w/GWX is not like FPS games where you can punch your way through. You have to learn how to get around the AI. You and you alone are the only tool to use and learn how to score tonnage and survive a patrol, tips and hints are nice but in the end it's still you at the keyboard. Anyone who claims they can tell you exactly how to win the game is a BS artist. I'd put money on most people using T/C when the AI catches them with their pants down. If your using a IX (sonar magnet) try an VII, it does not have the distance and less eels but it's a slender u-boat. You could also try patroling a grid away from aircover, or stick to early years untill your boots are wet. You will loose subs/careers along the way, big deal, start another one.

I'm definitly agree...
If we put down the AI, SH3 becames just a shotting game with scores above every sunk ship, in an old fashioned '80 beach bar games.. Remember: we are still playing against an AI model... but in the reality the DDs were commanded by human intelligence!! have a thought about.. |
