Default Country music listeners?

Curious if there are any among us. I suspect there are.

I wondered if you shared the same feelings about today's "country" music scene as I do? Without going into detail myself; if you have any thoughts or feelings about the subject, I'd be interested in reading them. I'm working on a rather lengthy essay on the subject....

Hank Williams Sr. FTW!

I love country music. But not some of the newer stuff. Too much like mainstream stuff for my taste. George Jones, both Hank Williamses, Johnny Cash, George Strait and all of them. For newer-ish stuff Joe Diffie and Randy Travis are favorites.

I was never a true fan, but my mom was and I heard a lot.

I like to describe today's country as '70s rock with fiddles.

I listen to a lot of Whiskeytown, and can't recommend Ween's country album highly enough.

That band is in business over here since 30 years. That song was their first ever - and it still is popular.

The modern popular country is pop music with twangy voices and telecasters. Give me vintage or alternative country instead.

Country music sucks. All it does is take precious air space away from shock DJ's, whose cruelty and profanity amuse us all.

Roy Orbison is one of my favorites. The guy had that strong spooky voice that was awesome to hear in song. California Blue was the first song I learned on Accoustic guitar, and I have been a fan of his ever since.
