Default Danica Patrick to Formula One????

Hypothetical question. Just curious to know what everyone thinks....

Will there be a female driver in Formula One any time soon?

I have heard of this "For-moo-la Wun". We, Texan rednecks have been told it is an auto race that is not NASCAR, often practiced in distant lands. Tell us, what is this For-moo-la Wun?

Someone started a thread on this some time ago. I pointed out then that there have have been two female F1 drivers, but so long ago that you young'uns don't remember: Maria-Theresa de Filipis in the '50s and Lella Lombardi in the '70s. Also back in the 1920s the pre-F1 Grand Prix had Elisabeth Junek, one of the best drivers of the era, female or male.

As to whether there will be another soon, I'd say probably. as to whether she does better than her predecessors, it's like asking if there will be another American World Champion soon: I'd like to see it, but I'm not holding my breath.

There have been four women drivers that have raced Formula 1

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...la_One_drivers

Ms. Patrick would be the first American woman to race Formula 1, but not the first in the world.

That list shows five...but three of them never actually started a race.

For-moo-la wan (you spelled it wrong) is an auto race version where the cars can also do right turns instead of always going left turns.

The Nascar ovals have been build as ovals because of a construction error in Nas-cars' steering system. They still have not figured out the error, just wonder why the cars never go left, so that is why the ovals are there to stay for some more time.

I just hope that never somebody will mess up the starting order - and let the cars launch in the wrong direction...

:rotfl:

Danica is supposed to do a test with Honda, and God knows Bernie Ecclestone is drooling over the concept of having a (sky)bird in F1.

Sorry, Sky, I'm just in one of those weird moods this morning. You know I have a lot of respect for you and your opinions.
