No Starforce / Securom?

Hiya all.

I got the game yesterday. The box has no mention of either Starforce or Securom, so I presume neither of them is included. Am I right?

Also, do you have any idea if the U-Boat addon is available for download anywhere in Europe? Direct2Drive won't let me buy it and UBI only seems to stock the DVD version at the moment

But anyway, eagerly waiting to skipper those fleet boats as soon as I get the addon and install RFB, &c. S! guys and happy hunting

no SF on SH4. as far as securerom can't remember what the game use's TBH

I thought SH4 used SecuRom? Anyway, patch 1.4 disabled it. If not completely disabling whatever scheme they used, 1.4 at least makes it so you don't need to use the disc.

Correct, then 1.5 adds in the SecuRom, but no disc needed. Non-issue for me. Others opine differently.

Maybe I'll confirm it for you

SH4 stock -- Securom ver 7 included

SH4 v1.4/1.5 -- You don't need any disc to run (although it has a chance that the securom driver is left in your system instead of uninstalled)

Ah, one more thing. V1.4 contains all the fixes released up to then so that's the only (free) patch I have to install, right?

I live in the UK and bought the disk at 'Game' store in Manchester. The disk is called
'SILENT HUNTER 4' Wolves of the Pacific U-Boat Missions

A search europe wide on the net should find it!!

No, When i bought it, it hadn't been out very long. Cost me £9.99 for the 'Missions' only but a good deal I thought. Still do!
And it's such an 'indepth' game, selling so cheaply now.

Still combing the Euronet for the U-boat addon. No luck so far

Ah well, guess I have to eat the price difference and just trot downtown for a DVD

But anyway, they have seemingly scrapped the copy protection at some point. I have the game patched to v1.4 now and there's no trace of either Starforce or Securom anywhere on my system... and yes, I do know where to look

Now I just wish I'd find that addon at a reasonable price somewhere :hmm:
