Default [WIP] - New Containers & Deck Cargo

This is a minor alteration to the default SH3 shipping containers. I heard some complaints that the freighters looked strange with huge, blocky containers, so I modified them to a more plausible size. IMO this improves the look of merchantmen especially when they're observed in profile. It has the added benefit of not intersecting fixtures like cargo booms (a major problem with some modded ships).

It should be available soon but I would like to release it with some other additions if possible, like construction equipment & other interesting deck cargoes. I need help with a few things:

-S3ditor often gives me error messages when I try to remap textures

-I need to find out how to add new slots for additional cargoes in incarcatura.dat. I know it's possible b/c it was done for GWX, but I don't know how to do it myself.

If anyone can help out I'd be very grateful.

Nice mod, but I wouldn't make the deck cargo too container-like as containers really did not appear historically until the mid 1950's

So true, every other cargo is much more appriciated in my point of view. Reason shown above.
But great work as usual.
Did i mentioned? I love your steaming trawlers and Flakships!
Kind regards

I can already hear Iam telling you that the modelling work would be too important if he decides not to use containers any more.

But ... I guess that you can always mention which objects you want to see as deck cargo all the same. :hmm:
Maybe Iam will take the time to model some of them (maybe ).

I must say this one looks very cool !

How is it going so far, been very quiet?
I think this is a good mod idea, will this work with stock/GWX ships, I assume the containers are external to the ships folder?
Cheers.

That's true in a sense - although I have seen several photos of WWII cargo ships with crude wooden containers measuring about 30-40 feet long. I will probably delete the corrugated steel texture and replace it with some flimsy-looking wood.
