Default Need help to hunt silently

I was trying to nail a ship in a storm and the sonarman's info's kinda important. But I am at a library and sound really wasn't an option. Can I change the settings so that the "SO:" info will be in writing instead of voice only?

Default at library: use headphones-problem solved.

just adjust the volume so that you can hear but others can't.

If you ask your sonar man to give continuous reports don't they show up in the message block?

If you are doing the manly thing and using the sonar manually, I would recommend a good set of headphones. I like the Bose noise canceling ones the bestest.

Except for the first SO message indentifying a new target. All later messages are voice only, message board will read "SO. ". I wonder if there is a switch somewhere that will make it read" SO. Warship closing, bearing xxx degrees" on the follow-up continuous reports as well as the first message.

The SO will notify you of any new sound contacts, and you can also set him to track the nearest sound contact in order to plot its intended course.
