Default Small picture on big TV

Hi all, don't know if this is a game setting or a TV setting, but I have a 42 inch High Def TV that my Computer is hooked up to through the DVI cable connection and hooked up to the HDMI port 2. When I run my computer on it regular, the picture is full screen for my desktop and stuff, but when I launch SH3 (video setting is set to full screen in SH3 options menu) it only shows on about half the TV screen. I have to full game picture, but it is shrunk down. Just wondering if there is a setting where I can get it to stretch full screen. I have 7800gt cards in SLI, so I am not short on graphics memory/performance.

LordNeuro is right. What is happening is that your computer is changing its scan rate when you launch SH3 into full screen mode. Hence, your TV is seeing the HDMI input as a 1024x768 signal and displaying it pixel for pixel on your Hi-Res screen.

You have a couple of choices. 1) you can (maybe) use one of the zoom modes on your TV to stretch the picture out to something you like better. 2) download the res-fix to run SH3 at a higher screen resolution and this will make your SH3 picture to be larger. Running SH3 at your TVs' native resolution would be ideal but that will depend on both your computer and your TV. Search the forum for where to get the res-fix download.

Oh, one other thing. Some TVs' cannot display the same resolution for a computer input that they can for a tuner or component input. However, I don't think that will be a problem for you, as you state that your 'native' computer output is full-screen.
