I have a question about damage modelling of the various ships in the game.
I just sunk a 24,000 brt troop ship with 16 HE rounds - all but three of which were hits above the waterline. Later I found a medium tanker which took 43 HE shells to dispatch. The troop career sported two guns so I was lobbing shells from c.1500m on the run (and therefore not concentrated fire) while the tanker was defenceless so I was able to sit 100m away and lob shells at the water line in a concentrate pattern. I would have thought a tanker was a much easier target to sink given its incendiary nature - especially with HE shells - than a troop ship. The other question I have concerns deck gun armament. Before GWX I had a choice with the deck gun of AA, Star Shell, HE and AP rounds - with GWX all I now can use is HE. I've looked in the loading screen and while I can change the type of gun, I don't seem to be able to change the shell loads. Is it just me missing something, or is that GWX? Sinking a ship with HE takes a ridiculously long time as opposed to AP rounds. |

Kaluen,
I believe that the "31 Flavors" of ammo for the deck gun was removed in GWX for realism. I think that only HE was available. Hopefully someone whose 100% positive will confirm this with some historical correctness. :p Oh and in case I missed it welcome aboard aj906!! ![]()
