A friend of mine from Mountainaire was telling me about his Uncle, one Max Fischer and that he served aboard U-156 as a First Officer under Hartenstein. He claims his mother still has a ribbon from a Knight's Cross that Fischer is supposed to have received for his service aboard her for the Laconia Incident, but u-boat.net has no info on him in the non-commander Knight's Cross holders and the rest of the crew records are unavailable at this time. If anyone has any info on Fischer, who lived in Cologne, Wiesenbad and he believes Aachen, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot guys. This is a real help. I've printed out the crew list for him and will pass it along. I knew my subsim shipmates would come through. As my daddy used to say,
You are gentlemen, scholars and good judges of poor whiskey, or is that poor judges of good whiskey? ![]() |
