John,

Ditch the rank insignias on the enlisted blue unifroms. They didn't use them back then. In general, the saying among submariners was "You leave your rate at the dock". Otherwise, great mod.

Another idea.. how about breast eagles on the German shirts? Also, the litzen (collar tabs) on the German officer shirts are too small. They are enlisted litzen.

Default Insignias

Sarsfield,

I had an officers only mod for version 1.0 it was done by request and only had 2 downloads. So needless to say I will not be taking the time to do another as clearly no one wanted it out of the hundreds that dowloaded the mod

Enlisted not wearing rank is something that has been discussed many times in this forum, and also a fact that I was aware of when I made the MOD. So I guess you could say it was done this way on purpose. Not to mention if it weren't for enlisted wearing ranks there would essentially be no point to the mod as there are so few officers on the boat.

As far as the Enlisted collar insignia go on the German uniforms I did not create them they were stock with the game, I just added the shoulder and sleeve insignias for rank, and those came from SH3.

I actually have no concept of an accurate looking german uniform. If anyone would like to design them I will gladly add them to the mod or anyone can just take my mod and change what needs to be changed and offer the whole thing as their own mod. Everything I do is always open to anyone at any time to manipulate for their own use, no need to ask permission or even give credit.



Oh and BTW I love the Batfish I try to go at least once a summer since it is such a short drive from okc!! maybe i'll catch ya there this summer

Thanks for the work! I really like the Shoulder boards for the German NCOs and of course, the US ranks look great, as always!

Default Patch

I have added a patch for the Mod it had 2 uniforms that i accidently left out on the americans side and I added the German breast Eagle insignia for the German Officers (per request)

Version 2.0 is a Mod itself but it is for SH4 1.5 only, V1.0 and 1.1 are both for
SH4 1.4 and earlier , if you are downloading 2.0 be sure and also get the patch which is right under the 2.0 download so you are not missing anything. all vital information concerning each cersion is on the download pages just do a search if you want either 1.0 or 1.1.

I personally like this mod, despite the "Artistic Licensing" on realism.
Unfortunately this mod really does not like working alongside TMO1.5+RSRDC+Patch5. (And combinations of.)
I haven't tested much past the campaign problem dates, (December 7/8 1941) but it's a consistent error resulting in a CTD.
Starting from Pearl. at 11.00 the CTD happens without fail every time at 21.30 on the same day.

After a wee bit of time pulling apart the files. The problem seems to originate inside the UPCData/UPCCrewData.

Removing the medals and ranks.upc files fails to launch SH4 past the menu screen, and removing the CrewMembers3D.upc fixes the the whole CTD problem, (And each patrol starts at 08.00 instead of 11.00) but the 3D textures ingame do not show.

Admitably I'm using TMO as a stop gap until RFB1.5 is released, but all the same. A compatible version would be nice if not too much trouble.

EDIT: Works a treat (So far) on the German side, even with TMO enabled.

Other than that. Nice wee mod.

I Have never used TMO. When I designed the MoD originally I had created it while i had RFB installed, however it shouldn't conflict with other mods unless...TMO has added lines in the txt file for a purpose other than crew data in support of the MoD. If that is the case, when my MoD re-writes the TMO one it would cause the instability. BTW I too am waiting for the 1.5 version of RFB untill then I'm only using RSRDC_V355_for_V15 and Have had no problems. I will however see what might be done in the short term with making it compatible for TMO.

Does anyone else have this problem???

Default After Carefull study

Well As I said I Have never used TM / TMO before so I had to DL it (and i have to thank you for giving me a need to do so Because It was Cool!!) But any way back to the subject at hand I Went to Ducci's TM DL site and per the instructions on the sight I DL'ed The #'s *1,*2,& *3 files you see immediatly below. I studied the files /I.E. the ones in the UPCData file and could find nothing in them to suggest that they were altered to support the TM MOD Specifically That would Cause my Mod to CTD.

*1. REL_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_15
*2. RSRDC_TMOv15_V371
*3. RSRDC_V371_Patch5

At first I only used (and installed in this order)

SH4 1.5 W/

1. REL_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_15
2. RSRDC_TMOv15_V371
3. John Hamm's Uniform Mod V2.0

and began a American Campaign December 7/8 1941 At first I used TC to get to 21:30 and then stopped just before, and I had no CTD, then I started another but this time I used TC all the way for three days straight and no CTD.

I then..

added the RSRDC_V371_Patch5 and repeated both test's and did not have a CTD at all.

I recomend this
Make sure you have all of these files above plus make sure that you have my patch for V2.0 (not having it should not effect this though but it will have effects later in the campaign) it is at the top of this page under the 2.0 download

If you already have these exact same files for TMO / RSRD / and My uniform Mod, then you may want to re DL all of them as there might be a corrupt file in one of the ones you have now. Then on a clean install of SH4 1.5 re-add the Mods in this order.

1. REL_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_15
2. RSRDC_TMOv15_V371
3. RSRDC_V371_Patch5
4. John Hamm's Uniform Mod V2.0

Also if you are not already Using JSGME to add your MODS, I highly recomend using it.

and then you should have no problem. My Mod would need to go behind any other Mod that Has a file in UPCData or UPCDataGE that has a file for either Ranks or CrewMembers3D. My MoD is Compatible with all Mods with the Exception of other Uniform MoDs or MoDs that Manipulate these files (which there are next to none... with the main exception of other uniform MoDs, and the only other Uniform Mod I know of is Captain Cox and my Mod does not work with his) in the Case of TM / or RFB it is Compatible though.. I hope this helps

Thank you for testing, And I'm glad you didn't find any conflicts. (However that doesn't help me unfortunately. Sods law i guess)

I use JSGME and install per instructions and in the correct order. (All mods used up-to date)

Your mod works flawlessly in the German campaign and using the monsun add-on, but refuses to point blank work at the start of the American campaign. I have had better luck further along the time-line, but still experience sporadic CTD's from time to time.

I wish I could be of more help, but again thank you for double-checking.
