Can't see reported contacts on radar screen

Hi,

I have a problem with the A scope radar. Very often I get a message that the operator has a radar contact. I go to radar station but I'm always unable to pick something up. After increasing time compression again I usually/always get a visual sighting of a plane, so I'm positive that the first radar contact was correct. So the question is: why am I unable to see the contact on A-scope or PPI?

Because both the A-scope and the PPI show information from only the SJ radar, which is a surface radar. There's no scope for the SD radar ingame, you just hear the reports.

Also, in rough seas the surface radar is hit or miss. If you focus the beam on the target and watch the A-scope, you'll see the peak bob up and down ans the ship rocks back and forth. It's even worse on the German radar.
