Default Sudden and uncontrollable loss of depth.

A WTF moment for the ages:

I'm playing 1.4. No boathandling mods, just graphic ones like Real Medals.

I exit brisbane for a patrol.

I make my way to deep water, hit P. I'm on unlimited batts and O2, prefer to travel sybmerged.

Now, I -just left- port. So ehen I hit P, why does it go past periscope depth and -keep sinking-?

Are you certain you didn't accidentally hit another key? I'm so used to first-person-shooters that I occasionally hit the D key for camera movement, which sends me down to test depth.

It goes down that low? Um, why?

WTF is the purpose of such a key?

The "D" key is the dive order and is set at default to keep diving until you contermand the order or you hit test depth.

Now if this happens when you hit the "P" key then something is amiss. It would help if you post a list of mods you are using, what level your game is patched to and in what order you installed the patches and mods.

Lots of smart folks here that will help you get running.

You should hear me. Normally it happens when I've gotten ahead of a juicy convoy or task force, and am lying in wait under silent running for the ships to move into firing position. Then I hit the key, the boat suddenly goes to Ahead Standard, silent running goes off because I'm over 3 knots speed, and the escorts go haywire.
