Default [TEC] FPS drop when underwater, which files to edit?

Hey everyone,

I just recently reinstalled SH4 after a short stint playing SH3 and here is my situation, when in Periscope view or External cam view when underwater, my FPS rate drops to almost a slide show (this is includes raising the periscope). In SH3, I get faster FPS when looking below water then above water (in Periscope and External cams). Are there any files I could possibly edit to increase the FPS when underwater?

Here are my computer specs:
Dell Inspiron
P4 2.66 GHz
2046mb RAM
320 GB HD
Radeon x1300 Video Card (w/ latest drivers)

Mods
TMO 1.7
TMO 1.7-1.8 Upgrade
TMO Patches 1-4
RSRDC_TMOv170_v411
RSRDC_V411_Patch2

Well my suggestion is to edit the individual submarine dat files...specifically you can delete, using the S3D editor... most of the nodes that create the nice bubble effects coming from the subs when underwater ...leave about 10 so you still have a few. You really don't need to have 30+ of those generators going...there kind of inacurate eye-candy anyway and they can kill your framerates.

I did this when facing similar slowdowns using the external cam underwater...and it made a real improvement.

Hope this helps you.
